Drumloops Vol. 2 SP303 Resample Beatmaking
Hillprop97 Drumloops Vol.2 is available now. In the video I make a beat using drums from the new Hillprop97 drumloops Vol. 2 collection. I loop a section of the break up, chop a sample using the resample method on the sp303, and make the beat by resampling.
bACK AGAIN - MPC 3000
I was inspired to get back on one of my favorite samplers of all time. This is just a little warm up beat I wanted to capture. I forgot how warm the sound quality is on this machine. Excuse the gloves. Its mad cold in my basement for some reason.

THE VERYSICK KEYS SOUND LIBRARY
I give a brief review of the new sound library by Jfilt. The music starts around the 3 or 4 minute mark. Very dope sound library.
ESSENTIAL HIP HOP CHORDS EBOOK
I play a beat where I used the XL's autochromatic function. Check out JFilts "Essential Hip Hop Chords". He has pics of chords using the pads on your MPC, Maschine, MV, or MPD. I then play some chops from a big band record over some boom bap drums.
AKAI MPC STUDIO
I give my thoughts and suggestions regarding the new akai mpc studio. I also make a quick beat to show the mpc in action.

ABOUT ME
I go by the producer name Hillprop97. I’m a producer from Seat Pleasant, Maryland. I’ve always been more so enamored with the beat of the song rather than the music. I would pay attention to each unique sound I would hear in a particular song. In the mid nineties this led me to start collecting vinyl records and making my own mixtapes of the songs I liked. I grew bored with that and wanted to start making my own music. After putting time stretched drumloops together with random samples in programs like Cool Edit, I bought my first sampler. I purchased my first MPC in the early 2000’s.
I started making beats and got enough confidence to post a few in video form on this new media platform at the time called YouTube. It is here that I started getting feedback from other producers and hiphop music fans. These interactions led me to put out my first album in 2013 named I Want My Daddy’s Records. The album was dedicated to my father who had recently passed away and his record collection, which I used to create the music. The album was a nod to our favorite television show that we watched together, Sanford and Son. A year after that I was lucky enough to purchase the iconic drum machine / sampler, the Emu SP1200. To celebrate, I made a 30 track album in which I only used this 10 second limited sampler. If you listen to the album - SP1200 Dreams - you can hear the warmth and aliasing of the samples and heaviness of those 12 bit drums which are characteristics of the sampler.
Since then, I have acquired many other samplers that I have become quite fond of. I even answer user questions and offer in-person or Skype lessons. I have also put out DVD tutorials for the Akai MPC 2000 and 2000xl on EBay as well as a tutorial on how to make those boom bap drums that people seem to love about my production (All these tutorials are now available for sale as a digital download through this site). I’m currently still making beats and even working with some rappers. I also enjoy helping other aspiring beatmakers and producers with quality samples and drums that they can use to spark their own creations.
